The Americorps Senior RSVP program pairs thousands of Americans age 55 and older with organizations making changes in communities across the country.  
Americorps senior volunteers who serve in our RSVP program choose how, where, and when they want to serve with commitments ranging from a few hours per week to 40 hours per week.  Americorps Senior Volunteers, have reported for themselves,  having better health and longevity having served their community 

A Foster Grandparent is someone who mentors a youth either at school or helping with after-school needs.  This program includes a stipend of $4.00 an hour plus mileage reimbursement.  The stipend is a nontaxable income and does not need to be reported as income.  This grant also requires fingerprints and monthly training, which can be done at home. 

Senior Companion is anyone 55 and older helping a senior stay in their home longer.  These activities include taking them to doctor appointments, taking them to the store, doing light housekeeping, or just visiting with them. 
Senior companions must volunteer at least 8 hours a week.  This program includes a stipend of $4.00 an hour plus mileage reimbursement.  The stipend is a nontaxable income and does not need to be reported as income.  This grant also requires fingerprints and monthly training, which can be done at home.
